چکیده

Cutaneous melanoma is an aggressive tumor responsible for 90% of mortality related to skin cancer. In the recent years, discovery driving mutations in has led better treatment approaches. The last decade seen a genomic revolution field Such production unprecedented mole data. High-throughput technologies have facilitated genomic, transcriptomic and epigenomic profiling several cancers, including melanoma. Nevertheless, there are number newer that not yet been employed large studies. this article we describe current classification cutaneous melanoma, review knowledge main genetic alterations their impact on targeted therapies, most high-throughput technologies, highlighting advantages disadvantages. We hope will also help scientists identify suitable technology address melanoma-related relevant questions. translation all actual advancements into clinical practice be helpful defining different molecular subsets patients provide new tools questions disease management. Genomic might indeed allow predict biological - and, subsequently, behavior each subset as well even changes cell populations during evolution toward real achievement personalized medicine.

High-throughput sequencing technologies.

The human genome sequence has profoundly altered our understanding of biology, human diversity, and disease. The path from the first draft sequence to our nascent era of personal genomes and genomic medicine has been made possible only because of the extraordinary advancements in DNA sequencing technologies over the past 10 years. Here, we discuss commonly used high-throughput sequencing platfo...

High-throughput sequencing of the melanoma genome.

Next-generation sequencing technologies are now common for whole-genome, whole-exome and whole-transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq) of tumors to identify point mutations, structural or copy number alterations and changes in gene expression. A substantial number of studies have already been performed for melanoma. One study analysed eight melanoma cell lines with RNA-Seq technology and identified ...

Importance of Diversity in the Oral Microbiota including Candida Species Revealed by High-Throughput Technologies

Taking advantage of high-throughput technologies, deep sequencing of the human microbiome has revealed commensal bacteria independent of the ability to culture them. The composition of the commensal microbiome is dependent on bacterial diversity and the state of the host regulated by the immune system. Candida species are well known as components of the commensal oral microbiota. Candida specie...

Genomic analysis and clinical management of adolescent cutaneous melanoma

Melanoma in young children is rare; however, its incidence in adolescents and young adults is rising. We describe the clinical course of a 15-year-old female diagnosed with AJCC stage IB non-ulcerated primary melanoma, who died from metastatic disease 4 years after diagnosis despite three lines of modern systemic therapy. We also present the complete genomic profile of her tumour and compare th...
